So...I tried, i really, really, REALLY tried, but sadly, i failed. I couldn't resist the goodness that is New Mexican food. And you know what? Sorry, i'm not sorry, because it was sooo good. lol
Friday morning started out promising, i had my protein shake and resisted the travel snacks and half way mark food stops that we normally do, and drank a lot of water. We arrived in New Mexico Friday afternoon and well...my plan was to have my cheat meals during dinner, but all i could think of as i sat in my brothers house waiting for the family to get home was, "Green Chile Cheeseburger", my mom said one word, "Blakes" and i was done for, i headed to Blakes Lotaburger for their famous Green Chile cheese burger and seasoned fries (kiddie size if that makes it any better lol). Saturday's lunch consisted of Dion's Pizza's Green Chile and Pepperoni pizza and their chef salad with their famous ranch, and Sunday morning, Twisters breakfast burritos, the Albuquerque (#4) to be exact. ;0P
And while i was expecting good home cooking, i wasn't expects so much fantastic, must eat, home cooking! Friday night, my sister inlaw made Frito pie's with Red Chile, ground meat, and pinto beans. Sunday night, my grandmother made an amazing pot of stewed chicken, with homemade mac n' cheese, and green beans. And last but not least, my brother and sister inlaw treated me and my mom to a fantastic belated mothers day dinner, filled with streamed crab legs and grilled steaks.
I mean...really, who could resist!??
I didn't weigh myself all weekend because i already knew what the results would be lol
When i weighed myself the morning of our trip (day 22) i was at 190 (3.4 lbs down from day 16!) when i stepped on the scale this morning (day 26) i am back at 193.
I have to admit, that when i stepped on the scale this morning, i was a bit upset with myself, but after a moment of reflection, i realized that this is a journey, not a weekend trip, i will make periodic stops along the way and i cant allow myself to feel guilty about it. I'm not interested in getting healthy on anyone else's timeline but my own. :o)
Overall, i had a wonderful and relaxing trip. Good food and great family!
